The VOLT™ Alpine X electric mountain bike is the latest in the VOLT™ line up. Designed for those riders who really want the best and highest specification of everything on their electric bicycle, it's based on the extremely popular VOLT™ Alpine. It's rugged mountain bike appearance will get many admiring looks but it's the performance of this bike which make's it really stand out.

Powered by Bafang's Super High Torque 250W Motor this bike can help you power up pretty much any hill. To back this power up the bike comes with one of the largest capacity batteries available - a huge 36V 16Ah Lithium Polymer battery from leading battery manufacturer Kingco. This huge battery is capable of powering you along for up to 80 miles on one charge!

VOLT's unique V-Wave technology; which has been developed in an exclusive partnership with Bafang Electric Motors, offers the most customisable and smooth riding experience available on any electric bike. It also reduces the sound levels of the Bafang motor to near silent and increases overall battery efficiency.

A digital LCD cycle computer is fitted to record the fine details of each of your rides. It also allows you to choose from five preset levels of pedal assistance so that you can select the exact level of pedal assistance that you require as you ride. If this is not enough you also have a thumb throttle fitted to give you that extra burst of power whenever you require.

Very high specification RST front suspension forks have been fitted to ensure a nice smooth ride and these have the additional benefit of having Smart Remote Lockout meaning that they can be locked out using a switch on the handlebars.

Shimano's high specification Deore gears offer nine different gear options as well as ultra smooth gear changing to help give a perfect riding experience. When you want to slow down the superb Tektro Auriga E-Comp Hydraulic "Safety Power Cut" Disc Brakes will quickly reduce your speed and bring you to a safe stop.

The VOLT™ Alpine X really really is a great bike to ride both on and off road and with it's Kevlar lined puncture resistant tyres you shouldn't even get a puncture to spoil your fun!

Reviews of the VOLT™ Alpine X Electric Mountain Bike

Simon Green  Rating: 5/5

I contacted London Electric Bikes in May 2014 to arrange a test ride at their showroom near London Bridge. I dealt with Lyle who was great. I have a standard mountain bike which I ride occasionally in Epping Forest, Essex but I am strictly a weekend-only-on-sunny-days kind of cyclist with none of the gear that most people seem to have. I wanted to cycle in to work (Loughton, Essex to Hackney, London - 10.5 miles) twice a week instead of driving to save some money on petrol and for the exercise. Having driven the route hundreds of times I knew what it was like for cyclists as I was always passing them and it's a bit hairy. I am 51 years old and in reasonable shape but felt that I needed a bit of help getting up the long hills going out of Loughton and I am not a very confident city cyclist at all. I figured a bit of power would come in handy. At the show room Lyle explained all the bits of the bike. It looked the business, all matt black. After showing me the throttle and the computer etc we went out into the rain - (typical London) on a busy back street and I had a go around the block. After the initial wobble the motor kicked in at setting 3 out of 5 and you could hear me go "Whoo Hoo!" all around the block. The power surge is bloody marvellous. I bought the bike then and there. A few days later it was delivered to my office and ....

I shall finish with what my mates say. When Lyle dropped off the bike at the office two of my colleagues tried the bike and they both went "Whoo Hoo!" Another 7 have tried the Alpine either on the street or off-road, and every single one of them has gone - you guessed it - "Whoo Hoo!" I heartily recommend that you find one of their showrooms and just test one of their electric bikes, there are quite a few models to choose from. They are definitely the future.
