The Pulse X is the big brother of the Pulse and the winner of the coveted T3 electric bike of the year award. It offers the same great ride and versatility as the Pulse but with several upgrades throughout. This e-bike still has all the functionality and style that makes the Pulse model so popular such as, full mudguards, lights and heavy duty pannier rack. The front-fork and seat post suspension provide a cushioned ride on all surfaces and mean the Pulse X can explore a wide variety of landscapes.

It comes in a 19” frame with 28” DP21 Alexrims and boats Kevlar lined Kenda tyres with extra-thick inner tubes making these wheels as tough as possible. Upgrades on this model over the Pulse include an up to 80 mile Panasonic battery as standard and a SpinTech™ super High-Torque motor instead of the 250W Power Motor, giving the Pulse X the extra power for quicker acceleration and more torque for hill climbing or difficult terrains. The Pulse X is also fitted with more responsive SR Suntour air-suspension forks as opposed to the spring suspension on the Pulse. The gear system required to match the more powerful acceleration of this model.

Reviews of the Volt Pulse X

Frank Sinnott – Rating:

After a lot of research and with no experience of e bikes I eventually decided to buy the Pulse X from Volt. I bought it via the Electric Bike Store , the guys there are very helpful friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Store recommended. As for the bike absolutely loving it. I work as a carpenter so it is a physically demanding job and at 57 years of age. Cycling to work which is a round trip of 20 miles proved too much for my aged bones when I started. I started using the tube not a lover of the tube. Having only used the bike twice to get to work. Getting around Shepherd’s Bush round about is no longer scary. Getting up Holland Park rd is fun all in all getting to and from work is a joy. Not only am I saving on fares but I’m getting fit or fitter. A deciding factor in spending what is a considerable amount of money on the Pulse X. Is it worth the money well based on my research I would have to say yes. Though I have no experience using any other e bike I do feel the bike is value for money. You can’t put a price on the enthusiasm I now have for wanting to use my bike. My 5 day week will mean 100 miles of cycling for some that would be laughable. I’ll be 58 this month I work hard so that milage is or was a daunting task. After the two times I’ve used the bike it is not and it’ll get easier. If anything the Pulse X is the best birthday present I could have bought myself.

Sandy – Rating:

This bike is fantastic! I tested the Pulse and thought it was great but I am so glad I purchased the Pulse X, the enhancements are so worth the extra. Well done Volt and I’ve now purchased a Kensington for the good lady.
